Things to do in Cancun with Kids

Traveling with the whole family can get expensive, especially when it comes to finding things to do in Cancun with the kids. Tours can be over a $100 per person and when you multiply that by everyone in the family, it can be tempting to stay in that all inclusive resort and not leave.

I’ve taken that route on family vacations and have always found myself wishing that I can gone out and seen more. Therefore, I’ve gathered some tips on inexpensive things to do in Cancun with your kids.

I’ve included a variety of fun things for all ages and all types of families – all under $25 per person. I hope you get a chance to explore Cancun with the whole family.

Visit the Beach: Cancun’s beaches can be a lot of fun for kids. With everything thing to do from swimming to building sand castles, children love spending time in the sand. All of Cancun’s beaches are public, meaning you and your children are free to wander along the sand. You can even pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it on the beach. The best part of the beach is that it is free!

Visit the Aquarium: Located at the Isla Shopping center, the Cancun Interactive Aquarium has everything from sharks to groupers and barracudas. You can even pet a shark if you are brave enough. And if you can time your visit right, make sure to stay around 5pm so that you can see the dolphin show. The admission starts at about $13 USD per person and decreases as with the more people you have.

Visit the Zoo… the  Croco Cun Zoo: Originally established as a crocodile farm for breeding crocodiles, Croco Cun Zoo is a fantastic place to take the kids.  Croco Cun is very hands on, meaning  you can get up close and personal with guacamayas, spider monkeys, snakes, deer, and of course, crocodiles! The zoo has stroller for those bringing small children. Open Daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Adults are 276 pesos (about $23 USD), children are 168 pesos (about $12 USD), and children under 6 are free.

Have you taken your children to Cancun? What activities did you participate in?
